“Celebrate Vista” banners to debut at Chocolate Festival on May 27
The City of Vista Public Arts Commission announces the premiere of Vista’s first art street banner event, “Celebrate Vista.” Beginning Sunday, May 27, twenty-nine banners created by local artists will adorn Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue. The debut of the banners will coincide with the Chocolate Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Vista. The banners feature important landmarks of the City, including favorites such as the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, the Wave Waterpark, and the Avo Playhouse; and events such as the Independence Day Celebration in Brengle Terrace Park. The “Celebrate Vista” art banners will be hung from light poles around downtown Vista through July 4.
Following their display, all banners will be sold by silent auction. To place a bid, interested persons are encouraged to stop by the Vista Art Foundation’s Vista Village Art Gallery beginning on May 27. The Vista Village Art Gallery is located at 127 Main Street in historic downtown Vista. Regular hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Gallery will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the Chocolate Festival. The minimum banner bid price will be set at $60, and proceeds will be divided between the artist and the Public Arts Commission of Vista.
